Hey, Fatso…

I wrote this to a loved one this evening and thought it would be good to share with other fat fucks like myself…

You FAT fuck! :) Yeah, when I asked you if you weighed 270 a couple of weeks ago, I forgot that you’re not a weightlifter like I am. When I was at my heaviest, about 270lbs, I looked exactly like you. I just had a ton of muscle under the fat and that made me much heavier. Anyway…

People use to tell me all the time, “Lose the weight…”. I thought nothing of it. “Yeah, whatever. I’m fat. Who gives a fuck?” That’s what I thought. However, all that bullshit we used to hear growing up about “You are what you eat” – it’s true. We are what we eat. I was right around your age (37) when I started having all kinds of gastrointestinal problems that if left untreated would require scopes going down my throat, up my ass, through my cock and who else knows what other cool invasive procedures doctors are paid good money to perform.

I think you know what I’m getting at. Spending hours upon hours of research about all these wonderful things led me to a lifestyle change. Long story short, LOSE THE WEIGHT. Make serious changes EEEEE-fucking-MEEEEEDIATELY. Trust me. You do NOT want to deal with what is INEVITABLY coming…

If you need advice, ask me… That’s what fat assholes are for…

The ongoing challenge of staying in shape (for a fat guy)

If you’re reading this at Facebook, you need to click the link to view the whole thing – otherwise you’ll just see these couple of sentences. Everyone is always bewildered about where “the rest” is. This is only an except.

Over the course of nearly two years I went from being obese at 270lbs at 29.3% body fat and 37.1% lean body mass to 161lbs at 12.5% body fat and about 26% lean body mass with lots of vascularity and a good six pack. People would ask me if I was a body builder. That was pretty cool. It’s been about a year and a half since then – and between working to regain some of my lost muscle mass (a lot) and partying (drinking) due to the fact that I love being out nowadays – I’ve put back on 30 pounds – 20 of which are fat. Not so good.

I’ve tried many diets over the years and I’m always learning. I’ve learned that a low carb diet like Atkins won’t work forever unless you stick with it. You can cheat from time to time but you can’t completely go off for a few months and then think it’ll be as effective as the first time. Your body learns what you’re doing. The Atkins diet works so great the first time because you’re shocking your body and it doesn’t know what to do. It’s really great. And I may give it another shot one day. It’s been long enough that I think it can work for me again. Continue reading

Fat – Keeping It Off

Boy oh boy.. Well, I weighed about 270 pounds at my heaviest – which wasn’t all fat – but I didn’t look good. So a couple of years ago I decided to lead a more healthy life. If you’re really curious about the details, it’s all in my blog history… So anyway.. At my most recent best, I went down to 161 pounds at about 12% of body fat. That was REALLY cool. Especially considering I didn’t look like a stick figure after losing quite a bit of muscle. Continue reading

09.21.09 Weightloss Update

Okay, so July 13th was my last update.. Since then, I’ve lost another fifteen pounds. At this very moment, I weigh 174.6 pounds at 15.7% body fat and 28.0% lean mass. I thought 15% body fat would do the trick, but it won’t. The good news is – I’m very, very close to where I need to be. 12-13% body fat is where I’ll be comfortable. And that, I’m sure of. So I’m about three percentage points away from my final goal for fat loss – which I will reach by December 31st – the latest. I’m pretty confident that I’ll remain over 160lbs when all is said and done. So those who are worrying about me getting down to 140lbs like I did several years ago – you can stop worrying. Furthermore, I’ll be doing a LEAN bulk for the entire year of 2010. I expect to be around 180lbs or 190lbs at 12-13% body fat when I’m finished. Continue reading

Diet and Fitness Update

Well, I just saw 191 on the scale this morning.. It’s very nice to walk behind women and children and not have them looking over their shoulder, watching my every move. It’s also nice to be out of size 44 pants and into 34’s… My goal is 30 but I’ll be satisfied with 32… It’s probably safe for me to start buying clothes about now – I only have 11 more pounds to lose..

In regards to weighing food – I know it works – but that didn’t work for me. I basically ate until I was satisfied (and sometimes even more) but I ate the right foods. I found things I really enjoyed eating. Mostly Caesar Salads with Grilled Chicken and Ranch Dressing – and NOT light dressing either.. Full fat.. I just got the dressing on the side and “dipped” instead of putting it on the salad. I was introduced to Sushi and Sashimi by Kona Grille (heh – see www.salcollaziano.com) – and THAT was a lifesaver. Sushi and Sashimi are a WHOLE LOT healthier than Cheeseburgers and Hot Dogs – and that helped big time. So finding foods I liked and NOT worrying about eating like a bird worked for me.
